Plus de 264 millions de personnes en sont atteintes par an dans le monde. C\u2019est un probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 publique et les chercheurs consacre beaucoup d\u2019efforts \u00e0 mieux comprendre les origines, les facteurs de risque et les traitements efficaces pour la soigner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019adolescence est une p\u00e9riode particuli\u00e8rement \u00e0 risque. Environ la moiti\u00e9 des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale rencontr\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge adulte se d\u00e9clarent pendant ou avant l\u2019adolescence. L\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la r\u00e9silience des jeunes aux troubles mentaux s\u2019av\u00e8re par cons\u00e9quent indispensable. Les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale dans l&rsquo;adolescence sont associ\u00e9s au ch\u00f4mage, \u00e0 la criminalit\u00e9, \u00e0 l&rsquo;augmentation des taux de tabagisme, \u00e0 la consommation de drogues, \u00e0 l&rsquo;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 et aux maladies mentales \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge adulte. Elle constitue \u00e0 la fois un sympt\u00f4me, un facteur de risque, de gravit\u00e9 et de rechutes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019estime de soi est d\u00e9finie comme l\u2019\u00e9valuation subjective d\u2019une personne de sa valeur en tant que personne. Elle est par d\u00e9finition une construction subjective. En effet, elle ne refl\u00e8te pas les caract\u00e9ristiques objectives de la personne ou la fa\u00e7on dont la personne est per\u00e7ue par les autres. Lors de l\u2019\u00e9pisode d\u00e9pressif, la personne perd confiance dans ses capacit\u00e9s de g\u00e9rer sa vie. Les personnes a faible estime de soi, sont tr\u00e8s s\u00e9v\u00e8res vis-\u00e0-vis d\u2019eux m\u00eame. Elles sont rarement satisfaits de leurs performances, m\u00eame si elles sont objectivement valables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.psy.link\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Photo-by-Daria-Tumanova-on-Unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.psy.link\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Photo-by-Daria-Tumanova-on-Unsplash.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.psy.link\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Photo-by-Daria-Tumanova-on-Unsplash-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo by Daria Tumanova on Unsplash<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Les processus d\u00e9pressifs<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Aaron Beck, le pionnier en th\u00e9rapie cognitive de la d\u00e9pression, avait rep\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 1967 les processus suivants associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>regard sur soi n\u00e9gatif<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>d\u00e9valorisation irr\u00e9aliste de soi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>maximalisation des d\u00e9fauts personnels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>minimisation des qualit\u00e9s personnelles et les performances pass\u00e9es<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inf\u00e9rence arbitraire (\u00e0 partir d\u2019une erreur mineure, conclusion catastrophique)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>comparaison \u00e0 sa d\u00e9faveur \u00e0 d\u2019autres personnes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>critique\/bl\u00e2me de soi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Chez les adolescents, la d\u00e9pression est une souffrance couramment diagnostiqu\u00e9e.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une enqu\u00eate a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sur le comportement des jeunes d\u2019\u00e2ge scolaire en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 en 2013\/2014.  Le pourcentage de jeunes d\u00e9clarant \u00eatre dans un \u00e9tat de d\u00e9prime plus d&rsquo;une fois par semaine augmente de 13 \u00e0 21 % entre les \u00e2ges de 11 et 15 ans. Cette \u00e9volution est d\u2019ailleurs plus marqu\u00e9e chez les filles que chez les gar\u00e7ons. A cet \u00e2ge le jeune donne plus d\u2019importance \u00e0 la comparaison sociale. Moins d\u2019attention est donn\u00e9e aux adultes\/\u00e9ducateurs. De plus, beaucoup de changements sont induits par des modifications hormonales et biologiques. Comme vous l\u2019avez d\u00e9j\u00e0 tous remarqu\u00e9, les ados peuvent avoir une humeur plut\u00f4t instable. Les variations sont parfois difficiles \u00e0 comprendre pour les parents ou les adultes. L\u2019humeur est triste, il y a une perte de go\u00fbt et de motivation pour les plaisirs et les activit\u00e9s, de l\u2019irritabilit\u00e9, de phases de boulimie ou d\u2019anorexie, des comportement antisociaux\u2026, prise de risque. Le sommeil et l\u2019alimentation peuvent ainsi \u00eatre perturb\u00e9es. Des sympt\u00f4mes anxieux y sont associ\u00e9s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La d\u00e9pression a tendance \u00e0 imposer un filtre \u00ab&nbsp;noir&nbsp;\u00bb \u00e0 l\u2019adolescent. Tout devient&nbsp;<em>sombre<\/em>, il se sent responsable de son mal-\u00eatre et se juge s\u00e9v\u00e8rement. On retrouve souvent beaucoup de culpabilit\u00e9 chez le d\u00e9pressif.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parfois, ces \u00e9pisodes d\u00e9pressifs construisent une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 pour plus tard. En effets, les chercheurs pensent que la d\u00e9pression de l\u2019adolescence serait un facteur de risque pour la d\u00e9pression chez l\u2019adulte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Une bonne estime de soi prot\u00e8ge l\u2019adolescent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019estime de soi joue donc un r\u00f4le de facteur de risque ou protection. Cela veut dire qu\u2019une bonne estime de soi (croire avoir de la valeur, sans basculer dans le narcissisme) est un facteur de protection face aux bouleversements de l\u2019adolescence, alors qu\u2019une faible estime de soi devient un risque suppl\u00e9mentaire.L\u2019estime de soi va au-del\u00e0 de la confiance en soi, elle implique aussi l\u2019image de soi, et l\u2019amour de soi. Ce dernier permet d\u2019\u00eatre bienveillant avec soi-m\u00eame.
